Job summary

Dignity Health at St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach, CA seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to deliver compassionate, high-quality care in Labor & Delivery. You will perform clinical assessments, plan and implement patient care, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support safe, evidence-based outcomes.

The role requires CA RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, NRP, and an Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certificate. 1–2 years of L&D experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of Labor & Delivery experience.
  • Active Registered Nurse license in California.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
  • Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Performs total body and system assessment each shift/visit according to unit standards.
  • Planning, implementing, evaluating and educating patients.
  • Utilizes technology, procedures, protocols and interventions specific to the unit.
  • Maintains legible, timely, accurate documentation in the electronic system.
  • Demonstrates leadership and accepts direction from facility leadership.
  • Mentors new staff and serves as resource to staff from other nursing departments.

  • Assessment: Performs total body and system assessment each shift/visit according to unit standards.
  • Care of Patient: Including planning, implementing, evaluating and educating.
  • Clinical/Technical Skills: Utilizes technology, procedures, protocols, standards and interventions specific to assigned unit.
  • Documentation: Performs legible, timely, concise and accurate documentation according to policies and procedures. Proficient and competent with the computerized documentation system.
  • Leadership: Accepts responsibility and accountability for own decisions and behaviors. Recognizes, accepts and cooperates with direction from facility leadership.
  • Precepting/Mentoring: Participates in orientation of new staff, ancillary personnel and mentors students in a constructive and positive manner. Serves as resource to staff from other nursing departments
Job Requirements
  • 1-2 years of Labor & Delivery experience
  • Active Registered Nurse license in the State of California
