Job summary

Talented-Medical-Solutions is seeking a Registered Nurse for Labor and Delivery in California. The role involves caring for women from childbearing through postpartum/infant care up to 28 days, coordinating with the care team, and supervising others as needed.

The ideal candidate has a CA RN license, current BLS certification, and at least one year in labor and delivery with nursery/postpartum experience preferred.

Job Summary

In addition to the general staff Registered Nurse job description, the Women's Care Unit staff nurse is responsible for the care of women from childbearing through geriatric years and infants up to 28 days of life, supervising and coordinating care with other disciplines.

Education & Experience

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing: Required


• At least one year of labor and delivery experience; nursery and postpartum experience preferred

Licenses & Certifications

• Current license as a Registered Nurse by the State of California: Required


• Current BLS certification, recertified every two years: Required

Key Responsibilities

• Performs an appropriate and complete assessment for each patient assigned, utilizing techniques specific to the patient's age, growth, and developmental status.


• Develops an individual plan of care specific to each patient and documents assessments, interventions, and patient response in the clinical record.


• Administers and controls narcotics and medications, and administers IV fluids according to policy and procedure.


• Communicates effectively with all members of the patient care team, including patients, family, and physicians.


• Provides and documents appropriate patient and family education.


• Provides effective leadership by directing and/or delegating tasks to other members of the health care team.
