Job summary

Augusta University’s Department of Juvenile Justice Health Services is hiring a Staff Nurse for Gainesville, GA, 40 hours per week at Gainesville RYDC. Salary is $39.50 per hour with 41 paid days off annually.

Responsibilities include delivering nursing care, patient education, and maintaining a supportive, secure environment for youth and staff. The role requires GA RN licensure, 1 year clinical experience, BCLS certification, and ability to lift 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Licensed as an RN in the State of Georgia.
• 1 year of previous experience in a clinical setting.
• Good organizational and decision-making skills; good physical and mental health; able to work under pressure; must relate well to patients, security staff, visitors, and co-workers.
• Must have current Health Care Provider BCLS Certification, obtained through American Heart or Red Cross Program.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs. Normal bending, reaching, stooping. Standing and sitting for long periods of time. Must be able to move quickly in cases of emergency (within 4 minutes).
• Security Clearance by the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of the Lead Nurse, deliver patient care through nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Guide patient teaching, nursing activities, and ancillary personnel.
• Promote a customer-friendly environment and provide superior service to youth, facility staff, family, and outside vendors.
