Portsmouth Regional Hospital is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for Special Procedures. You will provide direct patient care, administer medications, and collaborate with the care team in a high-acuity area.

Qualifications

Responsabilités

• Provide therapeutic and administrative services for patient care.
• Demonstrate knowledge of adult anatomy and culturally appropriate care.
• Administer medications safely for adults.
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient care.
• Delegate tasks and supervise unlicensed staff as needed.
• Coordinate with providers and interdisciplinary team to ensure quality care.
• Notify providers of patient condition changes and execute orders.
• Document patient progress and care using electronic systems.
• Coordinate discharge planning with the healthcare team.
• Mentor and orient new staff as needed.
• Care for procedural, stroke, trauma, and cardiovascular patients with appropriate lines and devices.

Schedule: Part Time Days, 24 hours per week, working three, 8-hour shifts per week with call.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Registered Nurse demonstrates independence in planning, organizing, administering, and evaluating patient care in accordance with the NH Nurse Practice Act, recognized nursing techniques, clinical and administrative policies.

What will you do in this role:

• Provide therapeutic and administrative services necessary for the care of the patient, in support of HCA ethical principles and values.
• Demonstrate knowledge of normal anatomy and physiology of the adult patient population as well as age adjusted and culturally appropriate care.
• Provide safe medication administration for the adult patient population.
• Assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting all aspects of patient care. Set priorities and modifies patient care in response to changing conditions by utilizing problem solving skills and exhibiting good judgment.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to unlicensed personnel and provides required supervision as needed.
• Collaborate with all health care providers and interdisciplinary team serving as the primary coordinator to facilitate and coordinate efficient, effective, and quality healthcare. Communicate patient progress towards the outcome attainment and assist providers and team during treatment/examination of patient and process orders.
• Makes appropriate and timely notification to providers on patient condition changes and carries out provider orders.
• Monitors, records, and communicates effectively patient condition as appropriate, utilizing computerized documentation systems to maintain therapeutic relationships with patients, families, and physicians.
• Assesses and coordinates patient’s discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Instructs and educates patients and families providing age and culturally appropriate care.
• Functions as an effective team member and/or charge RN when needed, orients and mentors new staff members
• Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in the care of the including but not limited to pre and post care of procedural patients, stroke and trauma patients, cardiovascular disease including AFIB and other arrhythmias, patient control analgesia (PCAs), epidural and nerve blocks, subdural and ventricular drains, NIH stroke scale, titrating IV medications and arterial lines as well as other invasive lines or drains and airway/respiratory devices- trachs and high flow and IV maintenance.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 45 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 45 days of employment start date
• New Hampshire RN license required
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Associate Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred
• 1 year of RN experience required
