Job summary

Jupiter Medical Center is seeking an RN to support Interventional Radiology, CT, MRI, X-Ray, Nuclear Medicine, and Ultrasound. You will collaborate with radiologists, assist with pre-, intra-, and post-procedure care, and perform IV starts with sedation as required.

Ideal candidates hold Florida RN licensure with BLS/ACLS, NIHSS, and strong critical care experience in ICU/ED/PCU settings. On-call responsibilities and ongoing education are part of the role.

Qualifications

  • Current RN licensure in Florida.
  • BLS for Health Care Provider (American Heart Association).
  • ACLS certification (American Heart Association).
  • NIHSS Stroke Scale proficiency.
  • Strong experience with IV placement and critical care (ICU/ED/PCU) environments.

Responsibilities

  • Assist all imaging modalities in Radiology: Interventional Radiology, CT, MRI, X-Ray, Nuclear Medicine, and Ultrasound.
  • Educate peers, patients, and families; support service excellence and healing environment.
  • Collaborate with Radiologists in planning patient care; participate in pre-, intra-, and post-procedure care.
  • Assist in diagnostic procedures and complex neuro and peripheral interventions such as aneurysm coils and stroke interventions.
  • Start IVs, access and de-access ports, and administer conscious sedation per hospital policy.
  • Document specimens properly; coordinate with Admitting for home health needs or inpatient admissions.
  • On-call responsibility; participate in department on-call policy and ongoing in-services.

The RN has a responsibility to act as educator to their peers, patients, and their families. All aspects of the RN performance supports service excellence and a healing environment.* The nurse collaborates with the Radiologists in the planing of patient care.* The nurse may function in the pre, intra and post procedure care of the patient, rotating modalities daily.* The nurse will assist in diagnostic procedures as well as highly complex invasive neuro and peripheral interventions such as; cerebral aneurysm coils, AVM & AVF repairs and stroke interventions.* The nurse will be required to start IV’s and access and de-access ports.* The nurse will be required to administer conscious sedation and monitor sedated patients per hospital policy.* The nurses are responsible for the proper handling and documentation of specimens.* The nurses work collaboratively with the Admitting nurse in setting up home health needs or inpatient admissions.* The nurse will be responsible for being “on call” and nurses assigned to call must be available per the department on call policy.* The nurse is responsible for attending in-services and keeping abreast of best practices and new technology.* The RN identifies and communicates needed unit resources or equipment to be included in budget.* Performs other duties as assigned.**Team Member Competencies**Establishing RelationshipsBuilds effective networks, working relationships, and alliances in order to collaborate effectively within department and organization.
