Location: PES School of Nursing Education – Michigan Campus Job Type: Part-Time

Reports To: Dean of Nursing/Program Director/Owner

Position Overview: PES School of Nursing Education is seeking experienced and passionate LPN Faculty members to deliver high-quality instruction to practical nursing students. This role is ideal for a Registered Nurse (RN) who is committed to nursing education, student success, and contributing to the future of healthcare. Faculty members are responsible for teaching theory, laboratory, and/or clinical courses based on program needs and their area of expertise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging, student-centered instruction in accordance with the PN curriculum.
  • Teach in classroom, lab, and clinical settings, using evidence-based teaching practices.
  • Prepare lesson plans, learning activities, and assignments aligned with course outcomes. Grading of student assignments in a timely manner is crucial and critical.
  • Supervise students during laboratory and clinical experiences, ensuring safe, effective, and ethical care practices.
  • Evaluate and provide constructive feedback on student performance and progression.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grading, and student documentation.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, curriculum development, and program assessment activities.
  • Foster a supportive and respectful learning environment that encourages critical thinking and professional growth.
  • Adhere to PES School of Nursing Education policies, state regulations, and accrediting standards.
  • Stay current with nursing practice, continuing education, and instructional methodologies.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan (required).
  • Experience with Moodle software
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution (required).
  • Minimum of 5 years of RN clinical experience, preferably including long-term care, medical-surgical, or adult health.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to professional ethics and excellence in nursing education.
  • Prior teaching experience in a nursing or allied health program.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with simulation, virtual instruction, or hybrid learning models.
  • Advanced degree (MSN) or active pursuit of an MSN is a plus.
  • Knowledge of NCLEX-PN preparation and test-taking strategies.
Work Schedule & Availability
  • Flexible teaching schedules available during the week Monday-Friday
COMPENSATION

We are offering a total instructional contract of $9,000 for the upcoming Practical Nursing term. The assignment will include responsibility for two part-time PN courses for 15 weeks:

  • One fully online didactic course; and
  • One course that includes either laboratory instruction or combined laboratory and clinical instruction.

The final course assignment and allocation of compensation will be based on the laboratory and clinical responsibilities associated with the second course. Compensation will be paid in equal monthly installments throughout the instructional term.

There will be an opportunity to go full time in January 2027.

This is a part-time adjunct faculty appointment. The instructor will be responsible for course delivery, grading, timely student communication, maintenance of the Moodle course site, participation in required faculty meetings, and completion of all applicable laboratory, clinical, and student evaluation documentation.
