CP01 Carilion Medical Center is looking for a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) to join its team at Carilion Roanoke Community Hospital in Virginia. This position offers a $20K Sign On Bonus for experienced RNs and requires a commitment to providing exceptional patient care in a collaborative environment.
The successful candidate will have strong critical thinking and customer service skills, be responsible for developing and implementing patient care plans, and will work rotating weekends and holidays. This position is located at Carilion Roanoke Community Hospital (CRCH) in Roanoke, VA working full time, days 7am‑7pm with rotating weekends and holidays. $20K Sign On Bonus is available for experienced RNs and $10K for new graduate RNs. As a registered nurse (RN), you are expected to consistently deliver the best in care and customer service, demonstrating respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with patients, their families, visitors and each other. You will assume primary accountability for nursing coordination and provision of individualized care for patients of all ages, utilizing delegation and critical thinking skills to provide quality service through a team‑oriented, collaborative approach to patient care.
The RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care to achieve optimum outcomes for patients of all ages. Age‑specific admission and ongoing assessments are completed, documented and used to develop a plan of care. The RN collaborates with members of the health care team, patient and family to develop, implement, and evaluate an age‑specific interdisciplinary plan. Plans are revised according to changes in patient status. Treatments and medications for patients of all ages are accurately administered and documented utilizing automated computer systems, including electronic medical records. Patient and family educational needs are identified in a timely manner, incorporated into the plan of care, implemented and documented appropriately.
Other responsibilities include contributing to Carilion Clinic’s performance improvement activities, serving as patient advocate and protector of patient rights, providing psychological, social and cultural support. The RN applies knowledge of growth and development to appropriately care for patients served. They perform clinical, leadership, and/or education pathways to support evidenced‑based, quality patient care service and performance improvement. The RN exhibits clinical expertise in rapidly changing circumstances, plans strategies to reduce length of stay and improve patient outcomes, manages resources, establishes priorities and modifies the environment to meet patient care needs. The RN completes manager/director predetermined projects within specified time frames and guidelines, uses problem‑solving methods to facilitate resolution of patient and personnel situations, takes an active role in orientation of new employees, provides feedback to staff, and participates in unit, hospital, and system activities that facilitate staff input in decision making.
