Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Clovis, NM is seeking an Oncology RN for a part-time, 0.50 FTE position providing compassionate, patient-centered cancer care. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, administer medications and supportive therapies, and collaborate with the team to achieve safe, high-quality outcomes.

The role requires an ADN or higher, NM RN license or compact, and BLS certification; ACLS/PALS/NRP may be required by department.

Qualifications

Overview

Location: 2219 Dillon Rd, Clovis, NM 88101-9454

Compensation: Minimum $39.69 – Maximum $53.55

Summary: As an Oncology RN, you will provide compassionate, patient-centered care to patients undergoing cancer treatment and recovery. Using the nursing process, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care while managing complex clinical needs, treatment side effects, and symptom control. This role requires strong clinical judgment, effective prioritization, and close collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team to deliver safe, high-quality care within a standards-based framework.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct, compassionate nursing care to oncology patients by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individualized care.
  • Administers medications, chemotherapy-related treatments, and supportive therapies in accordance with provider orders, protocols, and safety standards.
  • Collaborates with patients, families, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and support optimal outcomes.
  • Monitors patient response to treatment, manages symptoms and side effects, and responds effectively to emergent situations.
  • Educates patients and families on diagnosis, treatment plans, symptom management, and discharge needs.
  • Delegates care appropriately and provides clinical guidance to support staff while promoting safe, high-quality care.
  • Maintains competency in oncology nursing standards, required certifications, quality initiatives, and professional development.
  • Supports team collaboration, unit goals, and organizational standards while serving as a clinical resource when needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher from an accredited nursing program required.
  • Current New Mexico RN license or Compact State RN license required.
  • BLS certification required for all RN roles (AHA, ASHI, or Red Cross accepted).
  • Additional certifications may be required based on department assignment (ACLS, PALS, NRP).
