UW Health’s University Hospital in Madison, WI is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join a fast-paced 25-bed neuro specialty unit. You will care for medical and surgical adult neuro patients, participate in a top-tier stroke program, and contribute to epilepsy care.

A BSN is preferred, with a WI RN license and current CPR/BLS; six months of RN experience is expected. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, flexible scheduling for 60% FTE and higher, and opportunities for professional growth

Qualifications

• Current CPR/BLS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Care for a variety of adult neuro and post-surgical patients.
• participate in interdisciplinary stroke team and epilepsy center workflows.
• Provide high-quality diagnosis and treatment planning in a Magnet-designated facility.

Join our fast-paced 25-bed neuro specialty general care unit that offers an opportunity to advance your nursing skills utilizing evidence-based practice and become part of a collaborative team that encourages and helps one another to succeed.

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to:

• Care for a variety of medical and surgical adult neuro patients to include post-surgical spine surgeries, brain tumors, craniotomy and ophthalmology cases along with neurological patients with multiple sclerosis, ALS, Guillain-Barre syndrome, and trauma or ortho patients with multiple injuries/diagnosis or spinal fractures requiring orthotics.
• Become part of our interdisciplinary team of stroke professionals. UW Health is proud to be a Joint Commission accredited Comprehensive Stroke Program in WI with the ability to treat the most complex stroke cases in the state.
• Help provide the highest level of diagnosis and treatment options for those with epilepsy. This unit includes a Level IV Comprehensive Epilepsy Center as designated by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred

Work Experience

• Six (6) months nursing experience or current participant in UW Health’s Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit. Required
• Relevant RN Experience Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Required
• Current CPR/BLS Certification Required
• Relevant Certification Preferred
