Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Registered Nurse for Med/Surg 7E. This full-time role offers a 36-hour week schedule with a day shift from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The RN will provide comprehensive patient care using the nursing process and coordinate care with other departments.

Required qualifications include graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN) and an active RN license in Missouri or a compact license, plus BLS. Hospital experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an ADN, Nursing Diploma, or BSN.
• Current RN license in Missouri or compact license.
• BLS certification required (or obtained within 30 days of hire).
• Hospital experience preferred depending on unit.

Responsibilities

• Apply nursing process to provide patient care and maintain accountability for assigned patients.
• Coordinate patient care with other departments.
• Ensure patient rights and confidentiality are protected.
• Support Mercy Service Standards in daily duties.

Overview

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Schedule: Full-Time | 36 hours/week

Shift: Day Shift | 7:00AM-7:00PM

Sign-On Bonus

• Experienced Nurses: Up to $10,000
• New Graduate Nurses (less than 1 year of experience): Up to $5,000

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following:
• Associate Degree in Nursing
• Nursing Diploma
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure: Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.

Experience: Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.

Certifications

• Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: BSN preferred
• Licensure: Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred
• Experience: Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
