Job Description Summary: Provides safe, accurate and efficient patient care, including but not limited to assessment, review of labs and vital signs, medication safety, dose verification, and drug administration. Follows all Job Breakdown Instructions (JBIs) associated with role. Provides triage care when necessary. Communicates patient condition effectively to multidisciplinary team members.
Documentation: Thorough, accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) of treatment rendered to patients. Ensure appropriate charges are captured by following guidelines for appropriate administration of all medications and activities. Follow proper patient identification per JBI for all patient encounters.
Teaching: Educate patients and caregivers about medications, side effects and planned treatment course. Interact with patient and family in a caring, professional manner.
Telephone triage: Prioritize incoming calls and messages from patients, family members, hospitals, nursing facilities, pharmacies, and physician offices; respond in an appropriate time frame.
Supplies: Assist with inventory and restocking medical supplies, recommend purchase of new items, and place stock in storage areas in a timely manner.
Safety & Training: Complete annual required safety and nursing trainings. Attend all mandatory staff meetings as necessary. Maintain confidentiality of all patient and employee information.
Onboarding: Assist in training new employees related to job duties according to JBIs.
Work Assignment: Expected to work at any company location to meet business needs on an as‑needed basis, within reasonable expectations. Will also be expected to work overtime when given sufficient notice. Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
Compliance: Complies with all federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to patient privacy, patient rights, personnel law, safety, labor, and employment law. Adheres to company and departmental policies and procedures, including IT policies and Disaster Plan.
