The RN Infection Preventionist at Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC Health) conducts infection control surveillance across the organization, identifying HAIs/CAIs and initiating control measures as directed. This role requires independent work within the Quality Department to manage multiple priorities and ensure regulatory compliance.
Education and licensure requirements include an active RN license, CPR, and targeted IPC training; geriatrics experience is preferred.
Conducts infection control surveillance throughout the organization. Identifies, investigates and records data concerning healthcare associated infections, epidemiologically significant organisms and state reportable diseases. Initiates control measures as authorized by designated committees. Works independently with computer/internet access, managing multiple priorities in a physical environment that houses the hospital system's Quality Department.
