Job summary

Lowry Hills Care in Aurora, Colorado is seeking a Certified Infection Preventionist to join the Nursing Management team. The role requires CDC IP certification and strong infection control knowledge to support staff on the floor and act as a leadership resource.

You will plan, direct in-service educational programs, ensure compliance with federal/state/local standards, and coordinate staff training, with emphasis on patient safety and quality care.

Wages adjusted based on experience.

Qualifications

• Must maintain an active RN license in good standing.
• Must possess leadership and communication skills.
• Experience supervising and teaching; experience in infection control preferred.
• Willingness to work Sunday-Thursday and participate in ongoing OSHA and CDC in-service training.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, direct, and evaluate staff training, education, in-service, and orientation.
• Maintain training and in-service records for staff.
• Collaborate on patient safety initiatives and quality improvement with interdisciplinary team.
• Implement recommendations from QA committees related to staff education and infection prevention.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations.

Are you ready to move from the floor to the Nursing Management team? If so we have the opportunity for you. Aurora, Colorado Building is seeking a Certified Infection Preventionist to add expertise to the aleady well versed group. The Ideal Candidate will possess a CDC IP certification with experince regarding infection control and knowledge of statewide IC specifics. This position with be within the nursing management team, thus serving as a resource by attending to call, assisting staff on the the floor when needed and acting in the capacity of leadership will be necessary. Wages adjusted based on experience.

Purpose of your job position

The primary purpose of your job position is to plan, organize, develop, and direct all in-service educational programs throughout the facility in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and as may be directed by the administrator, to assure that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times.

Essential Functions:

• Must be able to plan, develop, direct, conduct, evaluate, and coordinate staff training, education, in service, and orientation




• Must maintain associate training and in service records




• Must exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients




• Must perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to patient rights, and safety and sanitation.




• Must have expert knowledge in the field of practice.




• Must have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department.




• Must understand and follow company policies including compliance procedures.




• Must be able to communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.




• Implement recommendation from the Quality Assessment and Assurance Committee as the relate to the educational needs of this facility.




• Ensure that all personnel attend and participate in annual OSHA and CDC in-service training programs for hazard communication, TB management , and bloodborne pathogens standard.

Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements:

• Must maintain an active nursing RN license in good standing throughout employment.




• Must have experience in supervision and principles, practice of teaching, etc.




• Must possess skills in leadership and communication




• Must demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
