Job summary

Lowry Hills Care & Rehabilitation Center, located in Aurora, CO, seeks a Certified Infection Preventionist to join the Nursing Management team. The ideal candidate will hold CDC IP certification with IP experience and knowledge of statewide IC specifics, acting as a leadership resource on the floor.

Responsibilities include directing all in-service education, coordinating staff training, and ensuring compliance with federal/state/local standards to maintain high-quality resident care.

Qualifications

• Must be an RN with active license and supervision/teaching experience.
• Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.
• Experience in staff training, in-service development, and education program delivery.
• Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, direct, conduct, evaluate, and coordinate staff training and orientation.
• Maintain associate training and in-service records.
• Exhibit excellent customer service with a positive attitude toward patients.
• Proficient in patient rights, safety, and sanitation competencies.
• Demonstrate expert knowledge in infection prevention and control.
• Implement and interpret department goals, policies, and procedures.
• Follow company policies including compliance procedures.
• Communicate effectively on an interdisciplinary team.
• Implement QA Committee recommendations for educational needs.
• Ensure annual OSHA and CDC in-service training for hazard communications, TB management, and bloodborne pathogens.
• Other duties as assigned by Nurse Management or NHA.

Are you ready to move from the floor to the Nursing Management team? If so we have the opportunity for you. Aurora, Colorado Building is seeking a Certified Infection Preventionist to add expertise to the aleady well versed group. The Ideal Candidate will possess a CDC IP certification with experince regarding infection control and knowledge of statewide IC specifics. This position with be within the nursing management team, thus serving as a resource by attending to call, assisting staff on the the floor when needed and acting in the capacity of leadership will be necessary. Wages adjusted based on experience.

Purpose of your job position

The primary purpose of your job position is to plan, organize, develop, and direct all in-service educational programs throughout the facility in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and as may be directed by the administrator, to assure that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times.

Essential Functions:

• Must have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department.
• Must understand and follow company policies including compliance procedures.
• Must be able to communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.
• Implement recommendation from the Quality Assessment and Assurance Committee as the relate to the educational needs of this facility.
• Ensure that all personnel attend and participate in annual OSHA and CDC in-service training programs for hazard communication, TB management , and bloodborne pathogens standard.
• Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned to you at any time with or without notice, from Nurse Management or NHA.

Most be willing to work Sunday-Thursday

Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements:

• Must maintain an active nursing RN license in good standing throughout employment.
• Must have experience in supervision and principles, practice of teaching, etc.
• Must possess skills in leadership and communication
• Must demonstrate dependable, regular attendance

Pay range $87,000-98,000
