Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking an RN for Immediate Care in Mount Prospect. The role is part-time, 20 hours weekly, with day shifts and weekend rotation. The position involves patient assessment, planning and delivering care, and coordinating with the care team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing is required.
  • 1 year ICU or ER experience preferred.
  • 1 year radiology nursing experience preferred.
  • 1 year wound/ostomy experience preferred.
  • Wound Ostomy Associate class preferred.
  • RN license for IL is required.
  • ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
  • CWON/CWCN certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops a plan of care with interventions to achieve outcomes.
  • Performs patient assessment and health data collection.
  • Communicates plan of care to patient and family and to the physician and team.
  • Tailors teaching to patient/family learning needs and cultural background.
  • Collaborates with peers and supports clinical education.
  • Provide compassionate psychological support to patients.
  • Assist technical staff with injections, venipuncture, medications, O2 therapy, IV management.
  • Participates in performance improvement and research; stays current with wound/ostomy care trends.
  • If skilled, conducts daily rounds of wound/ostomy/skin care patients.
  • Complies with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist in transporting acutely ill patients as needed.

Job description

Hourly Pay Range:

$36.00 - $55.80 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:
  • Position: RN - Immediate Care

  • Location: 199 W Rand Rd Mount Prospect

  • Part Time: 20hrs

  • Hours: M-F 8-8p, WKND/Holiday 8-4P - Working 2-12-hour shift, an 8-hour shift, and a 6-hour shift in one week. Weekend Sat/Sun rotation

  • Required Travel: Occasionally

What you will do:
  • Develops a plan of care that identifies interventions to achieve expected outcomes. Evaluates patient's progress toward attainment of outcomes, systematically revises diagnosis, interventions and expected outcomes as needed.

  • Provides patient assessment and collection of health data involving patient, family and other health care providers. .

  • Communicates plan of care to patient and family regularly respecting the patient's wishes through acknowledgment of patient/family perceptions of health and illness and mutual goal setting for optimal outcomes. Communicates patient data to physician and interdisciplinary team as indicated to achieve patient care needs. Documents patient health data, interventions and communications.

  • Individualizes patient and family teaching based on a thorough assessment to meet their specific learning needs. Assesses patient's cultural background, learning style, learning barriers, and modifies teaching plan accordingly. Provides teaching on disease management strategies, emergency care and drug information when appropriate. Identifies community resources to support patient self-management of disease.

  • Interacts with and contributes to professional development of peers, students and other health care providers as colleagues. Shares knowledge, provides feedback and contributes to an environment supportive of clinical education. Assigns or delegates tasks as needed.

  • Nurture a compassionate environment by providing psychological support

  • Provide assistance to technical staff with injection of contrast, venipuncture, and administration of drugs, 02 therapy, and IV management.

  • Participates in performance improvement activities and nursing research. Keeps abreast of research and practice trends in wound/ostomy/skin care through participation in professional networking, ongoing education, and self-directed learning activities. Supports staff in using research and providing evidence-based care

  • If skilled, conducts daily rounds of wound/ostomy/skin care patients. Monitors effectiveness of wound/ostomy treatment plans and other aspects of wound/ostomy/skin care

  • Complies with HIPAA regulations.

  • Assist in the transporting of acutely ill patients as needed.

What you will need:
  • Bachelors Degree Nursing Required

  • 1 Year ICU or ER experience, preferred And

  • 1 Year radiology nursing experience, preferred

  • 1 Year Wound/ostomy experience, preferred

  • Successful completion of Wound Ostomy Associate class, preferred

  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Active Illinois State Nursing License Required

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) Required

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - National CPR Foundation (NCPRF) Required

  • Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON) - Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB) Preferred

  • Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) - Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB) Preferred
