Job summary

Arkansas Children's Hospital in Springdale is seeking a Registered Nurse for inpatient medical-surgical care. This full-time, day-shift position is in the CC093060 Medical Surgical - Inpatient department.

You will provide holistic patient and family-centered care across the hospital stay, coordinating with care teams from admission through discharge. Requires an Associate's degree or nursing diploma and RN license in Arkansas or a compact state, with a minimum of three years nursing experience.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma, Associate Degree Nursing.
  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates continuity of patient care with patients and families following hospital admission and discharge, and for clinics ER visits, and PCP visits.
  • Facilitates hand-off throughout the continuum of care.
  • Manages high-risk patient care, including management of patients with multiple comorbidities or high risk for readmission to a hospital setting.
  • Provides and facilitates education of parents/families of patients following admission and coordinates discharge planning.
  • Serves as resource for team promoting advocacy for patients, families, and Arkansas Children's Team.
  • Conducts comprehensive, preventative screenings for patients and/or assists all support staff in daily patient interactions as needed.
  • Consistently provides safe and effective nursing care at a proficient level.
  • Proficiently assesses increasingly complex patients and serves as a resource to others to ensure developmentally appropriate and culturally sensitive care.
  • Provides individualized patient and family education at a proficient level in increasingly complex care situations, and serves as a resource in guiding others.
  • Proficiently mentors, coaches, precepts, and teaches healthcare professionals and students in the care of increasingly complex patients.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
