Job summary

East Alabama Health in Opelika, AL seeks an experienced perioperative RN to provide safe, holistic patient care, administer medications, and follow established standards and pathways to improve outcomes.

Ideal candidates hold ADN or equivalent, 2-3 years of perioperative experience, and an Alabama nursing license with ability to obtain ACLS/BLS within specified timelines; PALS and NIHSS training may be required in some areas.

POSITION SUMMARY

Provides safe therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way. Incorporates differences into the provision of care. Integrates knowledge, skills, and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum to include patient and family education. Utilizes standards, guidelines, protocols, or pathways for care delivery. Incorporates data and information to continuously improve care and practice to enhance outcomes. Administers Medications according to standard nursing practice. Ensures improvements in practice settings by assuming responsibility for self-development.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate degree in nursing or equivalent


• Required 2-3 years of Perioperative experience


• Required Registration/License/Certification


• Alabama Board of Nursing License


• ACLS must be obtained within 1 year of hire date


• BLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire date


• PALS within 1 year of hire date (if required in work area)


• NIHSS w/in 90 days of hire/transfer (EAH to assist with certification completion)

Preferred Education

• Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field

Preferred Experience

• Recent hospital experience and/or previous nursing practice experience preferred.
