Location: Columbus, GA

Salary: $80,000.00 - $83,000.00

Responsibilities

The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care for patients. The nurse functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice and coordinating patient care activities for all assigned staff to provide quality nursing care.

Qualifications
Education
  • Graduate from a nursing program (Required)
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred)
Work Experience
  • No experience required (New Graduates of a nursing program eligible (Required))
  • Nursing experience in hospital setting (Preferred)
  • 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions (Required)
Licenses and Certifications
  • RN – Registered Nurse – Georgia state licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate licensure (Current license in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNCL Multistate license. Required)
  • BCLS – Basic Life Support (Required)
Additional Licenses and Certifications
  • Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)
Addendum
  • Cardiac Tele: Additional Required Certifications – ACLS. Nurses new to specialty will complete ACLS within 6 months of start date (Required within 180 days).
  • Critical Care: Additional Required Certifications – ACLS. Nurses new to specialty will complete ACLS within 6 months of start date (Required within 180 days).
  • Dialysis: Additional Required Certifications – CDN (Certified Dialysis Certificate) (Preferred).
  • Emergency Department: Additional Required Certifications – ACLS and PALS. Nurses new to specialty will complete ACLS and PALS within 6 months of start date. Experienced Emergency Department nurses have 6 months to obtain PALS (Required within 180 days).
  • Infusion/Oncology: Additional Required Certifications – Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification prior to independent chemotherapy administration (Required upon hire).
  • Pediatrics: Additional Required Certifications – PALS. Required at Piedmont Columbus Hospital. Nurses new to specialty will complete PALS within 6 months of start date (Required within 180 days). For Piedmont Athens Hospital – PEARS or PALS required (Required within 180 days).
  • Surgical Services: Additional Required Certifications – PreOp/PACU/ENDO/CSU ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients. Nurses new to specialty will complete ACLS and PALS within 6 months of start date. OR BLS required only (Required within 180 days).
  • Women’s Services: Additional Required Certifications – Labor and Delivery ACLS; NRP by end of orientation; AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program within 12 months of start date; Mother/Baby NRP by end of orientation; NICU NRP by end of orientation; NAT NRP by end of orientation; Nursery NRP by end of orientation (Required within 180 days).
