Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Waxahachie, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the ICU on the night shift, a full-time position with 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

The ICU is a high-acuity unit with 18 beds and a typical 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio. You will work with intensivists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists and care teams to deliver patient- and family-centered care.

Must have 1–2 years ICU experience, RN license, and BLS certification; benefits available.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed clinical assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate care plans.

About The Unit

Our ICU is an 18-bed, high-acuity environment designed to deliver comprehensive critical care. Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2 for ICU patients, with a strong emphasis on teamwork, safety, and quality outcomes. You’ll work alongside intensivists, hospitalists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other specialists to deliver coordinated, patient- and family-centered care.

Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse, oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient travel. Know about patient needs in healthcare. Help patients and prevent issues. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies.
