Job summary

Concord Hospital Health System in New Hampshire is seeking an RN for an inpatient specialty unit. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a defined patient population with multi‑system needs in a safe therapeutic environment.

The RN reports to the Director or Nurse Manager, may supervise unlicensed staff, and collaborates with the care team to ensure high quality outcomes and adherence to standards and protocols. BSN preferred, NH licensure required.

Qualifications

  • Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
  • Current NH RN license and BLS certification.
  • One year of clinical nursing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care.
  • Base nursing actions on purposeful, organized thinking to make clinical judgments and decisions.
  • Gather data through history taking and physical assessment and interpret data to plan and implement interventions to meet patient care needs.
  • Develop, evaluate, and revise patient’s plan of care and nursing actions in response to the patient’s needs.
  • Document care provided and patient’s progress toward desired outcomes.
  • Direct and supervise others in the performance of delegated nursing activities.
  • Teach the patient and/or significant other(s) about the plan of care. Prepare patients to manage their care after discharge, transfer, or preparation for a procedure/test.
  • Administer medications to patients.

Job description

Summary

This Registered Nurse (RN) 2 job exists within a designated inpatient specialty area. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for a group of population‑specific patients in the department/unit, from simple to complex, with multi‑system issues, in a safe and therapeutic environment. The RN uses knowledge of growth and development principles, assesses data reflective of the patient’s status, and interprets information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to age‑specific needs. The RN engages in caring relationships with patients, families, and significant others, works collaboratively with other health‑care workers, and uses sound judgment while performing nursing and medical interventions. The RN adheres to specialty and organizational standards, policies, procedures, guidelines, and protocols. The RN reports to the Director and/or Nurse Manager and may supervise Licensed Nursing Assistants and unlicensed personnel.

Education

Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.

One year prior clinical nursing experience. Evidence of experience in working effectively and positively with patients, care providers, and the multidisciplinary team, and evidence of the ability to perform as a member of a team.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
