Job summary

HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital is seeking an ICU Registered Nurse to provide advanced, round-the-clock care for critically ill patients in the Medical ICU. You will operate life support equipment, manage complex drips, and perform comprehensive head-to-toe assessments.

Responsibilities include patient care documentation, family education, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to optimize outcomes. Requires active FL/compact RN license and ICU/critical care experience.

Qualifications

  • ACLS must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
  • BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • RN - active FL or compact state license
  • Trauma Care After Resuscitation or Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
  • ASN/BSN required; prior acute/critical care nursing experience preferred.

  • Educates patients, families, and caregivers about condition, treatment plan, medications, side effects, and follow-up.

  • Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate and deliver a holistic treatment plan.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Critical Care/Medical ICU RN, provides round the clock, advanced care for critically ill or unstable patients, operating life support equipment, managing complex medication drips and performing head to toe assessments.

The ICU RN:

  • Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
  • Teaches patients/families/caregivers about any non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and/or other lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self-management.
  • Manages evidence-based practices and continuous process improvement initiatives to meet and exceed quality measures and enhance the exceptional care provided to patients.
  • Manages the quality of care by collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver a holistic patient treatment plan that promotes and supports recovery.
What qualifications you will need:
