Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA invites applications for an RN I in the Operating Room. The role provides professional nursing care across ages, coordinating care with the interdisciplinary team and documenting in the EMR.

You will administer treatments and medications, assess and adjust care plans, and participate in performance improvement initiatives. The position requires Virginia RN licensure, BLS-HCP, and strong computer/EMR skills.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program required.
• Current Virginia RN license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• AHA BLS-HCP required; ACLS/PALS/NRP may be required based on unit.
• Keyboarding skills and computer literacy; proficiency with electronic medical records.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to patients of all ages across the care continuum.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care and document in EMR.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and adjust care plans.
• Administer treatments and medications and educate patients and families.
• Participate in performance improvement and quality initiatives.
• Advocate for patients’ rights and support psychosocial needs.
• Assist in orientation and training of new staff; support peers.
