Job summary

The Sanctuary at The Woodlands in Alabama is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) House Supervisor to provide clinical and operational leadership across adult and geriatric inpatient psychiatric units.

This on-site leadership role requires managing staffing, patient flow, clinical decisions, emergencies, and ensuring safe, high‑quality care during the assigned shift.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license eligible to practice in Alabama.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience.
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain as required.
• Psychiatric/behavioral-health nursing experience strongly preferred.
• Previous charge nurse, house supervisor, or nursing leadership experience preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide hospital-wide nursing oversight during assigned shifts.
• Monitor staffing, census, patient acuity, admissions, discharges, and 1:1 observations.
• Conduct rounds and identify clinical, staffing, safety, and operational concerns.
• Provide direction and support to nursing staff and charge nurses.
• Respond to behavioral and medical emergencies, including Code Blue and Code Gray events.
• Support safe and timely admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Monitor nursing documentation, medication practices, patient safety, and policy compliance.
• Provide real-time coaching and accountability to nursing staff.
• Escalate significant clinical or operational concerns to the DON and Administrator/CEO.

1. Primarily Friday, Saturday, and Sunday day shifts, with additional coverage as operationally needed.

Candidates must have the flexibility to provide additional coverage based on patient-care and hospital operational needs.
