Job summary

MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital in Tacoma, WA is seeking an RN House Supervisor to serve as in-house administrator for the hospital-based team. You will oversee policy, lead nursing staff, and ensure efficient operations across the facility, with a focus on quality, safety and patient experience.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, an active WA RN license, BLS and ACLS, plus 5 years of recent tertiary acute care nursing with leadership experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or equivalent) required.
  • Advanced nursing degree (MSN/PhD/DNP/ARNP) preferred.
  • Current WA RN license or MLS endorsement required.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • ACLS certification or must obtain within 6 months of employment.
  • Five years of recent clinical experience in a tertiary acute care setting.
  • Leadership/ supervisory experience preferred.

  • Apply critical thinking to decisions about patient care using standards and data.

Position Summary

We're seeking an RN House Supervisor to ask as in-house administrator for our hospital-based team. Overseeing hospital policy and problem resolutions, you will serve as a both leader and resource in facilitating efficient operations throughout the facility. Responsibilities
  • You will organize patient care by prioritizing, delegating, delivering, and evaluating on an ongoing bases
  • You will engage your critical thinking skills in making decisions regarding patient care, including knowledge and integration of relevant standards, resources, and data
  • You will utilize the knowledge base of nursing education and experience to deliver nursing care using the nursing process according to hospital policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Collaborate with the nursing team to facilitate overall improvement in quality of care, patient experience, and cost reduction
  • Foster a learning environment for patients/families, nursing staff, and members of the health care team
  • Advocate for ethical and holistic care promoting the autonomy, dignity, and health of patients from diverse ethnic and social backgrounds
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, or obtained within five (5) years from the initial date of hire; RN with 15+ years of service or internal candidates hired before January 1, 2021 may be considered in satisfaction of this requirement in lieu of an education agreement
  • Advanced degree in Nursing (MSN, PhD, DNP, ARNP) preferred
  • Current Registered Nurse license in Washington State or Multistate License endorsement (MLS)
  • Current BLS certification
  • ACLS certification or must become certified within 6 months of employment
  • Five (5) years recent clinical experience in a tertiary acute care setting
  • Previous experience and demonstrated skills in a leadership or a supervisory role
  • Three (3) years management experience preferred

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $53.15 - $95.83 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
