Job summary

Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver compassionate, high-quality care. You will perform assessments, participate in care planning, administer medications, and contribute to discharge planning within an interdisciplinary team.

Eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $25,000 and up to $24,000 in student loan assistance. Must have 1 year of RN experience and possess a KY RN license; BLS/CPR certification is required upon hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Registered Nurse license in KY upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and analyze conditions to determine interventions.
• Develop and modify care plans with nursing coordination, education, and discharge planning.
• Administer medications and IV therapy in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Evaluate patient outcomes and progress toward goals.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care.

• Assumes responsibility for acquiring knowledge and skills necessary for patient care in the identified practice setting.
• Performs assessment and analyzes patient problems and conditions using critical decisioning to determine need for standard, urgent or emergent interventions.
• Implements and/or modifies plan of care using assessment data, standards of care and evidence based practice inclusive of nursing care coordination, appropriate patient and family education, and discharge planning. Facilitates interdisciplinary partnership in patient care.
• Integrates ethical provisions in nursing practice and delivers care in a manner that preserves and protects patient autonomy, dignity and rights.
• Administers medications, IV therapy, and treatments in compliance with policies and procedures.
• Evaluates progress towards attainment of desired patient outcomes.
