Job summary

Waypoint Recovery Center in Cameron, SC is seeking a Registered Nurse for full-time night shifts (7pm–7am). This onsite role covers three nights per week with weekend rotations and shift differentials.

The RN will assess and coordinate care, supervise LPNs and CNAs, administer medications, and maintain accurate records while collaborating with the treatment team to support psychiatric and addiction recovery services. CPR/De-escalation training required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved/accredited school of nursing.
• One or more years’ nursing experience in the clinical area relevant to the facility.
• Experience in behavioral health/psychiatric/addiction recovery environment preferred.
• CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides and coordinates care by assessing physical and behavioral health needs.
• Develops and implements nursing care plans and educates clients and families.
• Maintains medical records and communicates with the interdisciplinary team.
• Transcribes and reviews orders to ensure accuracy and policy compliance.
• Administers medications accurately and monitors effects and adverse reactions.

RN Full-Time Night Shift (7pm - 7 am) | Waypoint Recovery Center | Cameron, South CarolinaAbout the Job:*CURRENTLY ONLY HIRING FOR FULL TIME NIGHTS (7 PM TO 7 AM), THREE NIGHTS PER WEEK*Up to $45 hourly DOE*Night Shift 7pm-7am*Weekend Rotations*Shift Differentials: $2.50 M-F, $4.00 Sat/SunPURPOSE STATEMENT:The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing nursing care to clients. Supervising care treatment and services of client care provided by LPNs, CNAs and other staff on assigned unit and shift. Developing, implementing, and evaluating an individual plan of care for each client. Assessment and re-assessment of clients. Communicating appropriate information with the interdisciplinary team. Reporting client concerns and changes in condition to supervisor and/or provider in a timely manner.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:Graduation from an approved/accredited school of nursing.One or more years’ nursing experience within clinical area of service provided by facility preferred.Experience in behavioral health/psychiatric/addiction recovery environment preferred.Knowledge of and experience with psychotropic medications and medication administration procedures.Ability to apply nursing standards and practice within an acute psychiatric settingLICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:Valid current RN license from the state or from a compact state, where applicable.Certified in Psychiatric Nursing preferred.CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.Roles and Responsibilities:ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Provides and coordinates care by assessing physical and behavioral health needs of client, develops and implements nursing care plans, maintains medical records and educates clients and their families about various physical and behavioral health conditions while ensuring client safety at all times.Assesses clients’ status on an ongoing basis and communicates finding to the providers timely.Ensures nursing treatment plans are specific to assessed needs and initial treatment plan is completed upon admission.Obtains provider’s orders (verbal or via telephone) accurately and documents appropriately; transcribes and reviews provider’s orders ensuring all required elements are present and appropriate per policy and procedures.Accurately administers medications, per ordered ,utilizing at least two client identifiers.Notifies providers of significant changes in status such as difficulties with detox, medical emergencies, pertinent lab results, or change in medical status regarding response to medications, etc.Assesses and documents effects of PRN medications.Maintains accountability of administration, recording, control and security of medications, including narcotics.Completes admission and discharge processes efficiently and accurately as directed.Confers regularly with treatment team (e.g., nurses, therapists, program managers, provider) regarding client care.
