Job summary

The Meadows Psychiatric Center, a 119-bed inpatient behavioral health facility near State College, PA, seeks an experienced RN for full-time night shifts (7pm–7:30am) with every-other-weekend rotation. Part-time and PRN options exist; sign-on bonus of $20,000 is offered for full-time.

Responsibilities include nursing assessments, administering medications, crisis management, and collaborating with Treatment Team to develop patient care plans.

Qualifications

• Valid Pennsylvania Registered Nursing License or Temp Permit to Practice.
• Genuine interest in Psychiatric Nursing.
• Previous Psychiatric Nursing experience preferred, not required as we provide on the job training and education.

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care for all patients on the Child, Adolescent, Stabilization and Adult Units.
• The Registered Nurse prescribes, coordinates and delegates nursing care and oversees the unit activities for each shift.
• The Registered Nurse completes nursing assessments and documents care and progress of the patient each shift.
• Nurse is also responsible for completing the Columbia Suicide Assessment on all new admissions and on any patient that has a change in their suicide risk level.
• The Registered Nurse facilitates medication administration activities in accordance with safe medication practices, including patient education.
• The Registered Nurse responds to all crisis/emergency events to direct staff and ensure patient safety.
• Attends Treatment Team to aid in the development of patient care plans.
• Oversees Mental Health Technicians and Licensed Practical Nurses working on the unit.

The Meadows Psychiatric Center is a 119 bed inpatient behavioral health facility with numerous outpatient programs which span the entire continuum of care. The beautiful 52-acre rural campus is located minutes outside of State College in Central PA. The Meadows provides comprehensive care to children through geriatrics.
