Job summary

Cone Health is seeking a Registered Nurse Float to provide flexible nursing coverage across multiple units and departments. You will collaborate with varied healthcare teams to deliver high-quality patient care and ensure smooth transitions within the facility.

Responsibilities include seamless unit transitions, patient assessments, and rapid response to emergencies. Candidates must hold an NC RN license and have one year of nursing experience; a BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• RN with active license in North Carolina or compact state.
• 1 year of RN experience required; 1 year in clinical specialty preferred.
• Current BLS; ACLS if critical care area.

Responsibilities

• Transition across units to provide comprehensive care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for patient-centered care.
• Assess patients and tailor care plans to diagnoses.
• Respond to emergencies and stabilize patients.
• Assist with patient placements, admissions, transfers, and bed management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Function:

• Transitions seamlessly between different nursing units and departments to provide comprehensive care and support in various medical situations.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, physicians, and support staff to deliver patient-centered care and ensure effective communication across units.
• Conducts thorough assessments of patients' conditions and needs, tailoring care plans based on individual diagnoses and medical histories.
• Responds promptly to emergencies and critical situations, offering immediate nursing care and assistance to stabilize patients.
• Assists with patient placements, admissions, and transfers, utilizing knowledge of bed allocation and capacity management to ensure optimal patient flow within the medical facility.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:

• Required: Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

Experience:

• Required: 1 year as a registered nurse.
• Preferred: 1 year of clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations.

Licensure/Certification/Listing:

• Required: Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider. If working in a critical care area, ACLS-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider is required.
