Job summary

Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers is seeking a full-time Float RN to provide infusion support for chemotherapy and other treatments across three Denver clinic sites. The role requires strong clinical skills, adaptability, and compassionate outpatient care.

Responsibilities include infusions, IV starts, port access, patient education, and collaboration with the care team to ensure safe therapy delivery. Oncology or infusion experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • RN license and current registration in practicing state.
  • BSN preferred.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Must maintain continuing education requirements.
  • Minimum two years nursing experience; oncology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administers chemotherapy, hydration and other medications under the direction and supervision of a physician.
  • Maintains knowledge of drug reimbursement procedures; completes chemotherapy charge forms.
  • Assures pre-authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to administration of therapies.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of ambulatory infusion pump use and maintenance, cleaning pumps and proper documentation.
  • Facilitates dose modification by assessing patient, labs, protocol, and dosage with physician input.
  • Performs venipuncture and port access; maintains central lines.
  • Administers medications with correct product, dosage, route and timing.
  • Educates patients and caregivers on pump use at home and self-care.

Overview

Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers is seeking a full-time Float RN to provide infusion support for both chemotherapy and non-oncology treatments across three clinic sites in Denver: Sky Ridge, Midtown, and Rose clinics. This role requires strong clinical skills, adaptability, and a commitment to delivering safe, compassionate care in a dynamic outpatient setting. Responsibilities include administering infusions, monitoring patients, performing IV starts and port access, educating patients on treatment and side effects, and collaborating with the care team to ensure accurate therapy delivery. Oncology or infusion experience is preferred. Mileage reimbursement is provided for travel between sites. Schedule will be determined in advance and will collaborate with the nursing supervisors based on clinic needs.

Salary Range: $37.00-46.00

Responsibilities

  • Maintains knowledge of drug reimbursement procedures. Completes all chemotherapy charge forms.
  • Assures pre-authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to administration of therapies.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of ambulatory infusion pump use and maintenance, cleaning pumps after use, and proper documentation of pump usage.
  • Facilitates dose modification by assessing patient, assessing labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, including problems and symptom management.
  • Performs venipuncture, accesses implanted ports and maintains central lines catheter devices.
  • Administers all medications using correct medication product, dosage/amount, route, time and technique.
  • Displays appropriate technical skills for the administration of chemotherapy and medications to include, but not limited to, venipuncture, central line access and infusion devices, programs portable infusion pumps for continuous drug delivery, and provides instruction to the patient and/or caregiver in the use of the pump at home.
  • Documents nursing assessments, patient teaching and fluid and medication administration in the patient chart.
  • Communicates all pertinent information and any interventions to the physician.
  • Triages patient phone calls as needed and documents relevant information in the patient's chart.
  • Assesses patient/family needs and provides teaching and other instructional material
Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred.

RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Must maintain continuing education requirements.

Minimum two years nursing experience required, oncology experience preferred.
