Parkland Health Center in Farmington, MO is seeking a perioperative registered nurse who functions as the surgeon's first assistant during surgical procedures. The RNFA works closely with the surgeon to provide direct patient care throughout the perioperative continuum.
The role requires 2–5 years of experience, RN licensure, and preferred CNOR/Certified First Assistant credentials. This is a PRN perioperative position with benefits and ongoing professional development opportunities.

In addition, Parkland’s Farmington campus offers a full continuum of inpatient and medical-surgical and intensive care, obstetrics and emergency services, along with a wide variety of outpatient services including oncology services, an infusion center, a wound care clinic, and the Huckstep Heart and Lung Center. Bonne Terre is a Rural Emergency Hospital providing emergency services and outpatient services including medical observation, lab, radiology, and sleep study.
The Surgical Services Department provides pre-op and post-op inpatient care to those patients undergoing specialty surgical procedures in the areas of abdominal solid organ transplant, vascular surgery, hepatobiliary, trauma, ear-nose and throat, and orthopedic procedures.
Performs an expanded perioperative role as a first assistant to surgeons during surgical procedures in the operating room. RNFA works alongside the surgeon to provide direct patient care. Works as a professional colleague with the perioperative team and collaborates with the patient-designated support person, and other health care providers when making decisions to plan care.
