A healthcare provider in California is seeking a Full-time RN First Assistant within their Operating Room. The role involves providing direct care to patients in surgical settings, collaborating with healthcare teams, and ensuring safe procedures. RN First Assistant (RNFA) within our Operating Room at Providence St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, CA. This position is Full‑time and will work 12‑hour day shifts.
The Registered Nurse First Assistant independently uses the nursing process to safely, therapeutically, and efficiently care for patients requiring surgical intervention. Using information from a variety of sources, the RNFA assesses, plans, implements, identifies outcomes, and evaluates the patient’s plan of care. The RNFA collaborates with the surgeon and the healthcare team to perform a safe operative procedure with an optimal outcome for the patient. As defined by the RNFA Standardized Procedure, the RNFA renders direct patient care and maintains practice privileges through the Medical Staffing office. When not assisting in surgery, the RNFA performs circulating and/or scrub duties as assigned.
