Job summary

MUSC Health is seeking a nursing student assistant to support patient care under RN supervision. You will perform basic tasks, monitor vital signs, and help with ADL duties in a clinical setting.

The role requires enrollment in an accredited ADN or BSN program, with completion of the first semester, and AHA BLS certification. This on-site position supports patient flow and chart preparation in a hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited ADN or BSN program.
• Must have completed the first semester of the program.
• AHA BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care tasks as delegated by the RN.
• Take vital signs, accucheck, and assist with ambulation.
• Provide ADL support and assist with simple dressing changes.
• Transport patients to departments and prepare charts.

Assist with the care of patients as delegated by the RN with ADL’s, performs patient care tasks and maintains a safe clean environment. The current employee must be in an accredited nursing school. Provide secretary/clerical assistance. Tasks may include, but are not limited to, vital signs, accucheck, ambulation, simple (non-sterile) dressing changes, toileting assistance, patient transport to other departments, answering the phone, faxing, preparing charts.

Additional Job Description

Education: Completion of first semester of an accredited ADN or BSN program. Currently enrolled in an accredited ADN or BSN program.

Experience: Completion of first semester of an accredited ADN or BSN program.

Licenses/Certificates: AHA BLS Certification
