Qualifications

• Demonstrates nursing clinical skills to assess physical, psychosocial, spiritual and educational needs.
• Performs a basic physical assessment and admission history.
• Initiates referrals and collaborates with the health care team.
• Reassesses patient needs each shift and communicates plans of care.
• Maintains patient safety and infection control standards.
• Participates in discharge planning and patient education.

Responsibilities

• Engages in population appropriate communication with patients and families.
• Assesses safety for patients and environment continuously.
• Implements plan of care in collaboration with the care team.
• Administers medications and responds to emergent situations as needed.
• Documents care accurately and provides timely reports on patient status.
