Job summary

Citizens Medical Center in Colby, KS is seeking a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to work full-time night shift in the ER. Under the Nurse Manager, you will coordinate total nursing care, teach patients and families, and lead with other staff to uphold professional nursing practice.

RN will report to the Nurse Manager. Shift is 6 PM to 6 AM; compensation includes a $10,000 sign-on bonus and pay dependent on degree and experience.

Qualifications

  • Current licensure by Kansas Board of Nursing; ER experience of at least 1 year.
  • CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Critical thinking and rapid decision making.
  • Strong assessment and triage abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Proficiency in emergency medical procedures and technology.
  • Adequate knowledge of nursing theory and practices.
  • Understanding of nursing standards and State Nurse Practice Act.

Position Information

Citizens Health is looking for a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to work full‑time at Citizens Medical Center, our acute care facility. Under the leadership of the Department Manager and/or Nurse Supervisor, coordinates total nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing staff and other health care team personnel in maintaining standards of professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.

Registered Nurses will report to the Nurse Manager.

Schedule

This facility is staffed 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. Night shift is 6 PM to 6 AM.

Compensation

Pay range: dependent upon degree and experience. A $10,000 sign‑on bonus is available for this position.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to meet patient needs using the nursing process.

  • Promote own professional growth and demonstrate professional conduct in regard to the department, professional relationships, and the practice of nursing.
Qualifications
  • Current Licensure by the Kansas Board of Nursing, minimum of one year ER experience
  • Current CPR certification or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire.

  • Ability to provide direction in application of nursing process, quality improvement standard, organization and departmental goals and objectives, and the State Nurse Practice Act.
