ARMStaffing is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Room on the night shift in Mount Pleasant, TX, for a 13-week contract. The role focuses on independent and collaborative care in a fast-paced ER, with emphasis on patient safety and skill development.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred; 1 year ER experience preferred.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA) certifications required.
• Texas RN license or Compact state license required.
• TNCC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned ER patients.
• Addresses the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments per protocols; monitors side effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients and families.
• Works within the ER team to support patient safety and quality of care.

Job Description

The competent Nurse in the Emergency Room (ER) setting practices independently and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. This role involves providing both routine and complex care, working towards long-range goals or plans while continuing to develop skills to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing.

Responsibilities

• Practices in accordance with the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Delivers nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments according to protocols; monitors side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers, while identifying issues and resources.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA only).
• TNCC certification is also preferred.
• Current RN License in state of Texas or compact state.
