Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a part-time RN to join the Electrophysiology Lab team at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie, PA. The role focuses on nursing care during cardiac catheterization procedures, collaborating with physicians and staff to provide patient-centered service.

Ideal candidates have cardiac care experience, PA RN licensure (or multi-state via eNLC), and BLS/ACLS certifications. RCIS within five years is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Current State of PA RN licensure or multi-state licensure through eNLC.
• RCIS certification encouraged within five years.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the care of patients undergoing cardiac catheterization procedures.
• Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and obtaining informed consent.
• Integrate knowledge of cardiovascular physiology and procedural techniques.
• Position patients and select anatomical parameters for imaging.
• Assist the physician during procedures by preparing equipment and maintaining a sterile field.
• Administer and monitor moderate sedation and vasoactive medications as directed.
• Anticipate adverse reactions and respond appropriately during procedures.
• Complete required documentation for procedures, including regulatory and billing protocols.
• Maintain adequate supplies for efficient department operations.
• Orient inexperienced staff on laboratory equipment operation.

What You'll Do

Requirements

Education

• Current State of PA RN licensure or current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).

Experience

• Certification in area of specialty (RCIS Certification encouraged within five years).

Licenses & Certifications
