PeaceHealth is seeking a Wound Care/Enterostomal Therapy RN for our Riverbend campus on a per diem, day shift basis. The salary range is $53.38 – $80.08 per hour, with non-union terms.

Essential duties include direct patient care, care planning, and collaboration with the health care team. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in nursing, Oregon RN license, Basic Life Support, and at least 1 year of RN experience (1 year wound/ostomy experience preferred).

Qualifications

  • Oregon nursing license is required.
  • CWON certification within 18 months of hire or ability to obtain.
  • Basic Life Support is required upon hire.
  • Minimum 1 year RN experience required.
  • 1 year wound, ostomy and continence experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care and develop plan of care; communicate with care team.
  • Document care in the health record according to standards.
  • Develop, deliver and evaluate education for patients, staff and community.
  • Support pressure ulcer prevention program and update related policy.
  • Participate in committees/projects in wound/ostomy care area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

PeaceHealth is seeking a Wound Care/Enterostomal Therapy RN for our Riverbend campus!

  • Per Diem, Day Shift Position (10 hour shifts)
  • The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $53.38 – $80.08
  • This is a non union position

The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

Essential Functions

  • Provide direct patient care. Assess patient and develop plan of care. Communicates with health care team to support case management of patients.
  • Documents patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards.
  • Develops, delivers, and evaluates education programs for patients, staff and community. Serves as resource to physicians, staff and community.
  • Ensures own professional effectiveness through education and professional development.
  • Product recommendation and involvement in committees and projects in area of expertise.
  • Supports the pressure ulcer prevention program. Updates Pressure Ulcer Policy and Procedure, monitors specialty bed utilization.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year RN experience required
  • 1 year working with wound, ostomy and continence patients preferred
  • Preferred: Acute care experience

Credentials

  • Required: State of Oregon nursing license
  • Required: within 1-1/2 Yrs of hire: Certified Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse
  • Required Upon Hire: Basic Life Support

Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs
  • Demonstrated ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships and patient/family centered work environment (Required)
  • Able to support and interpret medical center philosophy, policy and procedures (Required)
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Office applications and other applicable clinical applications (Required)

Department / Location Specific Notes

Oregon West Network:

  • Minimum certification in Wound and Ostomy Care (CWON) through the WOCN Society or able to obtain within 18 months of hire.

Working Conditions

Lifting

  • Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).
  • Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.
  • Push/Pull: Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (i.e., WOW, medical carts).
  • Perform hands on CPR at least 20 mins using 100-125 lbs. of force (National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA) Frequency should be seldom or occasionally.
  • Ability to move around area with frequent sitting.
  • Bending/ stooping/ squatting/ reaching/ kneeling frequently.
  • Lifting (non-patient) up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently.

Environmental Conditions

  • Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.
  • Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment.

Mental/Visual

  • Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
