University Medical Center, a world class academic medical center within LCMC Health, seeks an experienced endoscopy nurse to lead care before, during, and after procedures. You will educate patients about the GI procedure and leverage specialized knowledge of digestive disorders and diagnostic tools.

This fast-paced role includes a Monday–Friday schedule with on-call requirements, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and a strong emphasis on compassionate, high-quality care and patient

Qualificações

• Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.

Responsabilidades

• Prioritize, coordinate, and delegate all care touchpoints for patients.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure direct patient care.
• Maintain and advocate a safe environment for everyone.
• Monitor and engage with patients, families, and care team on significant events or questions.
• Explain procedures, treatments and medications to patients and families.
• Ensure infection control and environment of care standards.
• Maintain continuity of care and effective throughput.
• Consult with supervisor if unable to complete tasks promptly, effectively, or safely.
• Initiate patient and family education using resources and continuum of care services.
• Assist teammates proactively.

Your job is more than a job. No one makes it happen like you. As an endoscopy nurse you're all over patient care before, during, and after the procedure like "gravy on rice." You educate your patients about the procedure because you've developed a specialized knowledge about gastrointestinal disorders and an expertise in a variety of diagnostic procedures used to diagnose digestive health issues. With a Monday through Friday schedule, you understand "on call" is a necessary part of the job and that's okay with you. It's a fast-paced environment where you manage multiple patients during your shift and, should complications arise, you handle them with confidence and compassion like the pro that you are. When your patients leave with the answers to their health questions, you love the reward that comes with teamwork and successful outcomes. And that's what we love about you. Your Everyday Take the lead

• prioritizing, coordinating, and delegating all care touchpoints for your patients.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure appropriate direct patient care.
• Maintain and advocate a safe environment for everyone.
• Monitor and engage with your patients, families, and appropriate care team members concerning significant events, patient condition changes, or patient questions and concerns.
• Consistently explains all procedures, treatments and medications to patient and family as appropriate.
• Monitor and execute Joint Commission infection control and environment of care requirements.
• Ensure continuity of care, efficient throughput, consistent communications, and an exceptional experience for every patient.
• Advise and consult with supervisor when unable to complete assignments or perform tasks promptly, effectively, or safely.
• Initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources and continuum of care services.
• Contribute to the team by assisting others without being asked.
