Job summary

United-Digestive is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide specialized care in the endoscopy center. The role requires planning, executing, and evaluating patient care with close physician collaboration and adherence to Georgia nursing practice standards.

Candidate must hold an active Georgia RN license, have GI endoscopy experience if possible, and maintain BCLS certification. ACLS is recommended; completion of the Airway Management Module is mandatory before administering IV conscious sedation.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized nursing care in the GI endoscopy center.
• Plan, execute and evaluate nursing care per physician orders.
• Interact with patients through all phases of their experience in the center.
• Maintain compliance with state nursing practice laws and center policies.
• May travel to a sister center as needed.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Registered Nurse (RN) provides individualized and specialized nursing care to patients within the endoscopy center in accordance with physicians orders, recognized nursing techniques, legal aspects of current nurse practice in the State of Georgia and the Centers policies and procedures. Is responsible for planning, executing and evaluating the nursing care given to patients. Will have contact with the patient in each phase of his experience. Must be self-directed and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Maybe required to travel to a sister center.REPORTS TO: Registered Nurse Manager (RN)QUALIFICATIONSCurrent State license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN).Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.Experience in GI endoscopy preferred.Membership in GI specialty or other local, state, or national professional societies encouraged.Maintains Basic Cardiac Life Support certification. ACLS certification is recommended, but optional.Completion of Airway Management Module is required prior to administering IV conscious sedation. Score of 100% on conscious sedation module post-test.PHYSICAL/MENTAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDSAbility to work under stress. Moderate periods of sitting and computer use. Good visual acuity. Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl. Ability to reach, grasp, use fine finger movement and feel sensation to discern temperature, texture, size, and shape.
