Dignity Health - Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta seeks a Registered Nurse to deliver compassionate, high-quality care in a fast-paced acute care setting. You will assess patients, develop and implement care plans, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support recovery and safety.

The role requires a California RN license and recent critical care experience, plus BLS, ACLS, and PALS. Trauma Nursing skills and ongoing commitment to excellence are essential in this Level III Trauma

Qualifications

  • CA RN license required.
  • Two years critical care experience within the last 3 years.
  • One year experience in an acute care facility.
  • BLS certification required at hire.
  • ACLS required at hire.
  • PALS required at hire.
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course within 12 months.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care and evaluates outcomes, adjusting nursing care plans as needed.
  • Monitors patient condition and works within scope of practice.
  • Performs technical nursing procedures per ED policies to ensure quality care.
  • Delivers care aligned with MMCMS mission and patient-family expectations.
  • Reassesses patients to ensure needs are met.
  • Expedites ED processes while maintaining high patient satisfaction.

  • Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other practitioners as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal care.
  • Monitors medical condition of patients and works within scope of practice.
  • Demonstrates ability to perform technical nursing procedures/skills of patient care competently, by implementing ED policies and procedures.
  • Provides care in accordance with mission/philosophy of MMCMS, and as they would like their family to be cared for.
  • Assesses and reassesses and remains attentive, so that all patient needs are met.
  • Expedites ED processes by providing professional, efficient patient care and implements Standardized Procedures whenever possible thereby improving patient satisfaction.
Job Requirements
  • Education sufficient to obtain a California Registered Nurse license. and RN experience in an acute care facility.
  • Two year minimum requirement of critical care experience within the last 3 years. and
  • One year experience in an acute care facility. and
  • Registered Nurse: CA, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, upon hire and
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support, upon hire and
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course, within 12 - months and
Preferred
  • Bachelors Of Science Nursing and Emergency Room experience preferred over other critical areas., upon hire
  • Certified Emergency Nurse, upon hire and
  • Critical RN Adult/Neonatal/Pediatric/Acute, upon hire
