Job summary

Dignity Health - Memorial Hospital in Bakersfield, CA is seeking an Emergency Services RN to provide compassionate, high-quality care, perform assessments, procedures, and implement care plans within a fast-paced ER.

You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Relevant certifications (BLS/ACLS/PALS) and 1–2 years ER experience are preferred; BSN is encouraged.

Qualifications

• CA RN license and active certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS) required.
• 1–2 years Emergency Nursing experience preferred.
• BSN and Trauma Nurse Core Course / Certified Emergency Nurse preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessment/reassess, including changing shift reports, obtaining nursing history and establishing priorities for care.
• Assess learning needs and discharge readiness for patient/family.
• Complete documentation accurately and timely in correct format.
• Provide direct patient care and assist physician with procedures as necessary.
• Report changes in patient’s condition to physician.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessment/reassessment, including giving or receiving comprehensive change of shift and intermittent report, obtaining the nursing history, conducting a physical assessment, establishing priorities for care.
• Assess patient's learning needs, readiness for discharge and ability of the patient/family/SO to manage illness after discharge.
• Completes both computer and hand written documentation using correct format in an accurate, precise, timely, legible and complete manner .
• Provide direct patient care, as required. Assist physician with procedures, as necessary.
• Report changes in patient's condition to physician.

Pay Range

$45.55 - $79.04 /hour
