Job summary

A healthcare provider in Dallas is seeking an Emergency Dept Registered Nurse PRN to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. You will assess and manage patient pain, perform necessary procedures, and educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans. Candidates must possess an RN licence, an Associate Degree, and certifications in ACLS, PALS, and BCLS. This role supports the vision of providing exceptional emergency care within a specialized cardiovascular and spine facility.

Qualifications

  • ACLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • PALS certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • BCLS certification or Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management.
  • Perform procedures as ordered and document care in the medical record.
  • Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs.
  • Teach patients and families about medical conditions and treatment plans.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient‑centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

Responsibilities
  • Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
  • Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Performs exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.
  • Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow‑up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
  • Teaches patients/families/caregivers about any non‑medicinal follow‑up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and/or other lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self‑management.
Qualifications
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licence.
  • Associate Degree.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, or Satori Alternatives Management of Aggression must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
