Pay ranges from $54.19 to $68.37 per hour with potential shift differentials and bonuses. Requirements include CA RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS; BSN preferred; at least one year of acute care ER/CCU experience; EMR experience is desirable.

Qualifications

One-year acute care experience in Emergency and/or Critical Care nursing preferred.
Electronic Medical Record experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provides patient care in a safe and effective manner.
Directs Patient Care Technician activity and documents care per unit standards.
Collaborates with healthcare team to ensure quality and safety.

Position Summary

This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Saddleback Medical Center. The employee shall support Saddleback Medical Center’s strategic plan and participate in and advocate performance improvement/patient safety activities. The RN, Clinical II in the Emergency Services department is responsible for providing patient care in a safe and effective manner. Additional responsibilities include directing the Patient Care Technician activity, synthesizing patient information, assessing patients, planning of care/intervention, teaching of patients/family, implementing treatment plan/MD orders, and documenting and evaluating per unit standards. Collaboration between healthcare team members and integration of patient care standards are incorporated into all clinical activities

Essential Functions And Responsibilities Of The Job

Assesses health care needs.
Follows a data collection process that is systematic, includes psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and other factors and is ongoing, determined by the patient’s immediate condition or needs, and involves the patient, family, significant others, and health care providers when appropriate.
Analyzes the assessment data in determining diagnosis and plan of care.
Develops and contributes to a written plan of care to meet patient’s subtle as well as obvious nursing needs.
Implements the plan of care to attain expected outcomes.
Evaluates the patient’s outcomes.
Evaluation is systematic and ongoing, is determined by the patient’s responses to the interventions, which are documented in the medical record.
Systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and considers factors related to safety, effectiveness and cost in planning and delivering patient care as a professional work responsibility.
Identifies, develops and implements an action plan for self-development.
Identifies subtle as well as obvious patient problems and reports to an appropriate resource person. Addresses the age specific needs of all populations served: adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
Competently utilizes Reddinet emergency medical communication system.
Ability to be at work and on time.
Ability to follow company policies, procedures and directives.
Ability to interact in a positive and constructive manner.
Ability to prioritize and multitask.
Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities.
