Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department in Marble Falls, TX. This PRN role involves delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced setting, collaborating with physicians and the care team to assess and respond to patient needs, and ensuring safe, compassionate care at all times.

The RN will use established nursing processes to diagnose patient responses and create actionable care plans, while supporting continuous improvement and patient

Qualifications

• Must have completed an accredited nursing program or have 2+ years of experience.
• Field of Study: nursing.
• Minimum 2 years in a relevant role.
• Certification: BLS either held or obtained within 30 days.
• Registered Nurse License required.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize patient needs and implement care plans in collaboration with the care team.
• Monitor patient conditions and adjust care plans as needed.
• Administer medications and document interventions.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions and treatments.
• Collaborate with physicians and allied health staff to coordinate care.
• Ensure a safe, compassionate environment for patients and families.

Job description

LOCATION: BAYLOR SCOTT & WHITE MEDICAL CENTER, MARBLE FALLS TX

DEPT: EMERGENCY

SCHEDULE: PRN

We serve all populations, Trauma IV Stroke Ready. 12 Beds, average of 54 patient visits. Patient Ratio 3 or 4 to one, depending on acuity. We use Epic charting, Level 1 infuser, hot line, Temp Pacer, Draegger Monitors, Art Lines, Chest tubes and Tele-Neuro Our staff consist of a Manager, Supervisor, RN's and Techs.

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse on Unit is a key player in patient care management, following our nursing practice model. They work with other health care staff to deliver patient care effectively. Our Registered Nurses use the nursing process efficiently. They diagnose patient responses to health issues and create care plans accordingly. It includes evaluating healthcare needs and responses.

• Prioritize needs. Create, implement, and assess care plan to achieve outcomes. Adapt plan as necessary.
• Observe indicators closely, support evidence-based changes with research and hands-on learning.
• Create a caring, safe environment for patients, families, and staff.
• Build relationships with boundaries in mind. Focus on managing emotional and physical pain to promote healing and reduce suffering.
• Facilitate learning for all members of the healthcare team, including patients, families, and nursing staff, ensuring everyone is well-informed.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and the community to develop and execute an integrated plan of care.
• Use problem-solving strategies and utilize available resources to support patients, family and staff as part of a systems thinking approach.

Key Success Factors

• Familiarity with nursing and patient care standards and procedures.
• Awareness of legal requirements and standards of certification and accreditation bodies, including the specifics of the hospital and respective department/unit.
• Good command of medical terminology, with a focus on healthcare promotion, risk reduction, and disease prevention.
• Effective communication skills, along with social aptitude for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
• Possessing critical thinking and problem-solving skills is crucial.
• Capability to identify and report changes in patient conditions, develop, and modify patient care plans as required.
• Basic computer skills necessary for day-to-day assignments.
