Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a registered nurse to provide direct patient care in accordance with established policies and standards. The role uses the nursing process to plan and coordinate care for the appropriate age group.

You will initiate and adjust interdisciplinary care plans, document thoroughly, and educate patients and families. The position may precept students and new staff, with other duties as assigned. HIPAA and privacy policy adherence is required.

Qualifications

• Active PA RN license or multi-state licensure via eNLC.
• Ability to provide direct nursing care per policies and standards.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and privacy policies.

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, protocols, and standards of the healthcare organization.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Utilizes the nursing process in providing and coordinating the plan of patient care for the age appropriate population. (30%)
• Initiates, monitors and revises interdisciplinary plan of care based on assessment findings and physician orders for the age appropriate population. (20%)
• Completes patient documentation in a comprehensive manner in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements that promotes interdisciplinary communication. (25%)
• Provides ongoing and appropriate teaching to patients and families to effectively guide them across the continuum of care. (20%)
• Supports the development of students, new staff and colleagues, may serve as a preceptor. (5%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

• Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
