Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System in Baker City, Oregon, is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse for our Emergency Department. The RN will deliver direct patient care in a six-bed ED unit, coordinate with the care team, and ensure safe medication administration and documentation.

Ideal candidates will hold an Oregon RN license, BLS certification, ACLS within 6 months of hire, and have at least 1 year of acute care experience in a high-acuity setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Educate patients and families and document care plans and treatments.
• Administer prescribed medications and therapies and monitor patient responses.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop and adjust care plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation and patient advocacy.

We are looking to hire a PRN Registered Nurse for our Emergency Department in Baker City, Oregon! This position will be located at our Medical Center off the La Grande-Baker Hwy, just below the Elkhorn Mountains.

As an RN at Saint Alphonsus Health System, provide hands-on patient care while collaborating with colleagues, maintaining accurate documentation, and utilizing resources wisely. You will serve as a patient advocate by promoting their physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being. You will also be expected to educate patients, administer prescribed medications and treatments, and develop care plans based on patient needs.

About this Position

RNs working in the ED will manage a six-bed unit made up of patients with trauma and stroke, primarily. Our ideal candidate is adaptive to change, invested in self-driven learning, and a team player.

License/Certification Requirements

• Licensed in the State of Oregon as a Registered Nurse as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing is required.
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire in all units, unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS as defined in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk.
• ACLS/PALS within 6 months of hire.

General Preferences

• 1 year of RN acute care experience (high acuity, critical care patient population experience required)
