Job summary

Rochelle Community Hospital in Rochelle, IL is seeking an Emergency Room nurse (RN) to coordinate and deliver age-appropriate patient care using the nursing process. The ER RN will work within the hospital's policies and Nursing Department to ensure quality care.

Requirements include graduation from NLN-accredited nursing program, Illinois RN license, and current BLS with ACLS, PALS, TNCC and NRP within 6-12 months of hire. Trauma and ENPC are desirable; cross-training is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Must be graduate of an NLN-accredited School of Nursing and have a current Illinois RN license.
• Must be BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC and NRP certified within 6–12 months of hire.
• One year of professional experience in a medical setting preferred.
• Emergency or Critical Care experience desirable.
• Trauma Nurse Specialist certification desirable.
• ENPC certification desirable.
• Must demonstrate competency as required by Emergency Services Manager.
• Must be in good physical and mental health and able to work under pressure.
• Willingness to cross-train to another nursing unit if applicable.

• Provide care in accordance with Rochelle Community Hospital policies, procedures and Nursing Department objectives.
• Maintain safety and infection control practices and operate designated medical and computer equipment.

Position Summary

The Emergency Room (ER) nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse accountable for the coordination and delivery of quality, age-appropriate patient care, utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The ER RN shall perform nursing functions in accordance with the policies, procedures, and objectives of Rochelle Community Hospital (RCH) and RCH's Nursing Department.

Education

• Must be a graduate of an NLN-accredited School of Nursing and have a current Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license.

Experience

• Must be currently BLS certified with ACLS, PALS, TNCC and NRP certification within 6-12 months of hire date.
• One year of professional experience in a medical setting is preferred.
• Experience in Emergency or Critical Care is desirable.
• Certification as a Trauma Nurse Specialist is desirable.
• ENPC certification is desirable.
• Must show competency of those skills designated by the Manager of Emergency Services by written exam and/or demonstration.
• Must be in good physical and mental health, and able to work under pressure.
• Must have good teaching and communication skills.
• The ability to operate designated medical and computer equipment must be attained.
• Must be willing to cross-train to at least one other nursing unit, if applicable.
