Job summary

Ochsner Health in Louisiana is seeking a Nurse Leader to oversee patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. This role effectively delegates, directs, and assists licensed and ancillary team members to achieve quality patient outcomes.

The role requires RN licensure, BLS, CPI, ACLS, and PALS within specified timelines, and a preferred nursing degree.

Qualifications

• RN license in the state of practice.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• CPI Certification within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS within 90 days of hire.
• PALS within 90 days of hire.
• Preferred: Certification in clinical specialty area.

Responsibilities

• Uses the nursing process to deliver patient care.
• Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies for patients and families.
• Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources on the interdisciplinary team.
• Uses data and knowledge to evaluate and promote change for better outcomes.
• Supports customer satisfaction and staff morale while improving nursing practice.
• Adapts interactions to diverse patient populations and ensures privacy and consent.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Education

• Required - Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of hire.


• Required - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of hire.


• Preferred - Certification in clinical specialty area.
