Job summary

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current licensure in North Carolina as a Registered Nurse or Compact state licensure.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Demonstrates positive interpersonal skills.

• Has knowledge of the age-specific physiological and psychosocial needs of patients.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient and identify patient care needs.
• Plan, organize, implements, and evaluates patient care.
• Administers medication as ordered by physician.
• Functions as charge nurse as assigned.
• Maintains an accurate and relevant record of patient care.
• Recognizes life threatening situations and responds appropriately.
• Establishes collaborative interdisciplinary relationships with staff.
• Monitors the quality of care based on outcome-oriented indicators.
• Assists in cost containment and accurate charging for patient services.
• Adjusts care based upon age-specific needs.
• Supports patients' cultural and spiritual beliefs within medical limits.
