Job summary

Memorial Health University Medical Center is seeking an RN Trauma Educator in Savannah, GA. You will lead trauma education across units, turning guidelines and performance insights into practical bedside training to improve patient care.

The role focuses on competency development, program leadership, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to advance trauma care standards and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • RN licensed to practice nursing in Georgia.
  • Bachelors Degree in nursing or related field.
  • TNCC instructor certification or TNCC course completion.
  • ACLS, ATLS and BCLS certifications within required timelines.
  • ENPC and PALS certifications within stated timeframes.

Responsibilities

  • Assess trauma competencies and education plans for nurses and staff.
  • Design and deliver evidence‑based trauma education programs.
  • Rounding and evaluating clinical practice for adherence to trauma standards.
  • Collaborate with leaders and teams to implement best practices.
  • Coordinate trauma education activities and documentation.
  • Represent the Trauma Program in community outreach and committees.

Job Summary And Qualifications

As an RN Trauma Educator, you will strengthen trauma care across the continuum by preparing teams with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to deliver safe, high‑quality care. Serving as both a clinical mentor and program leader, you will turn guidelines, performance‑improvement insights, and national standards into clear, practical education that elevates care at the bedside. Through focused assessments, targeted training, and close collaboration, you will ensure every caregiver is equipped to provide the level of trauma care patients deserve – advancing our shared mission to improve more lives in more ways.

Your role will include:
  • Assessing and developing trauma competencies, learning needs, and education plans for nurses, physicians, and staff across all areas involved in trauma care
  • Designing and delivering evidence‑based education, orientation, and preceptorship programs with measurable outcomes and clear evaluation methods
  • Rounding and evaluating clinical practice to monitor patient progress, documentation quality, adherence to trauma standards, and opportunities to improve care
  • Collaborating and consulting with leaders, educators, and interdisciplinary teams to implement best practices, reduce risk, and strengthen trauma care systems
  • Coordinating and tracking trauma education activities, competency validation, outreach programs, PI‑related training, and loop‑closure documentation
  • Engaging and representing the Trauma Program through community outreach, professional presentations, committee participation, and partnerships that support trauma education
What qualifications you will need:
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Advanced Trauma Life Spt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Emergency Nurse Pediatric Cour must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
  • PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • (RN) Registered Nurse
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course, or TNCC Instructor must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
